The Case for Tim Tebow

Last year's Heisman Trophy winner is back in the mix once again. Tebow lead his team to the national championship where they will meet the Oklahoma Sooners. Although his numbers are down from last season, his leadership and efficiency are the reason is a top candidate yet again. Archie Griffin is the only man to win the Heisman Trophy twice and Tebow c! ould join him. Tebow seemed to be a step behind McCoy and Bra! dford un til he lead his team to an impressive win over Alabama without star Percy Harvin. The defenses in the SEC are the best in the nation and voters will take this into account. Although Tim Tebow had a fantastic 2008 campaign, I see him finishing in second this year.
The Case for Colt McCoy

The man who has done the most with the least around him is Colt McCoy. McCoy threw for an amazing completion percentage this season at 80%. He does not have the tal! ent around him Bradford and Tebow have, but he flourished for the University of Texas. McCoy epitomizes a Longhorns QB with his mellow southern vibe and his great attitude. He lead Texas to a huge win against Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry. Texas' only loss was in the last second to Texas Tech. Because of this devastating loss Texas did not make the Big 12 Championship, thus finishing third in the BCS and missing the national championship. The fact that McCoy did not play that extra game I think hurts him. He was not able to showcase himself on the biggest stage and I think Colt McCoy finishes third in the voting.
The Case for Sam Bradford
Sam Bradford leads the nation's best offense. This team puts up points in bunches and has just crushed some very good teams. Bradford is on pace to smash Colt Brennan's efficiency record and has put up unthinkable statistics. He has the numbers, power arm, accuracy, and intelligence to be this year's Heisman winner. Nothing phases Bradford. He is a quiet individual who just talks through his play on the field. The numbers he has put up this season, the leadership he has shown, and the fact he lead Oklahoma to the #1 seed in the BCS all work in his favor in this race. All three of these guys deserve to win this award, but Sam Bradford deserves it the most. Sam Bradford will be your 2008 Heisman Trophy Winner.
