Sloan gets 1000th win with Jazz, Billups makes debut with Nuggets in win over Dallas



Utah Jazz head coach Jerry Sloan got his 1000th win with Utah last night after beating the Oklahoma City Thunder.

He has the most wins with one team in NBA history. The Jazz won 104-97.

Carlos Boozer lead them with 21 points and 9 rebounds, and Andrei Kirilenko came off the bench and had 16 points and 12 rebounds. Center Mehmet Okur also had 16 points.

The Jazz are still without Deron Williams, who is still injured. But now he is out for a little longer. He was originally expected to be back in about 2 weeks, but now it's lengthened ! to 4-6 weeks. His replacement, Ronnie Price, had 7 points, and other backup PG Brevin Knight had 11 assists and 3 steals.

The Thunder were led by Kevin Durant's 24 points and Jeff Green's 22. Forward Desmond Mason came off the bench and scored 18.

Nuggets beat Mavericks 108-105

Carmelo Anthony led the Nuggets with 28 points in the close win over Dallas.


It was point guard Chauncey Billups's debut with Denver after being sent by Detroit to acquire Allen Iverson. Billups had 15 points, but shot 5-17 from the field. Starting center Nene had 19 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 blocks, JR Smith had 15 points, and Linas Kleiza of Lithuania had 14.


Dallas was led by Dirk Nowitzki's 23 points and 10 rebounds, and Jason Kidd's almost triple double in which he had 22 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists. Jason Terry added 20 points and Gerald Green came off the bench to sc! ore 13 in only 14 minutes.
